Indian Electric Car REVA Launched in Santiago De Chile

Electric cars are coming of age with various electric car companies developing or launching their products in different countries. In the not too distant past, leading car manufacturers tightly held on to the opinion that developing new electric cars for sale was not a good idea. They were convinced that it would not be profitable, at least not for a long time. There were half-hearted efforts at developing hybrid cars that is cars which ran on electricity, as well as gasoline. But things have been turning around with the rocketing prices of fossil fuels.

Recently electric car manufacturer Cam, which is a branch of the Spanish company Endesa has launched the REVA, an electric car from Indian shores, in Santiago De Chile. The car is completely dependent on electricity, it’s a two door model and can travel about 80 kilometers on one charge. It has a decent maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour. In terms of passenger capacity, the REVA can carry up to 230 kilograms that would be two adults and two minors. So REVA can comfortably serve as a family car. It comes with a price tag of 6 million pesos in Chile, which is roughly equivalent to 12,000 US dollars.
